Default Staying healthy this winter

What are you doing this winter to ensure that you stay healthy so you don't get sick, or worse yet, get the flu? At work, we have hand sanitizers all over the place and people are being reminded to cover their mouths when coughing and sneezing.

Stay hydrated thing - the air in winter can be very dry. I have a hygrometer on the wall showing massive drops of moisture in cold weather and colder it gets, the drier you get. It is recommended that knowledge of fluid intake when the weather becomes very weak.

If you want to fight colds and exhaust gas, wash your hands often during the day. Wash hands thoroughly wet them with warm water, not hot. Apply a generous amount of soap and rub your hands in and around the tip of the fingers and fingernails for thirty seconds. Clean with soap all the way up the arms and elbows. Rinse well, some will not be soap residue. Dry hands thoroughly. If you have a public toilet, wash your hands in the same manner as above, and let them dry on paper towels. Use paper to close the tap and open the bathroom door. Discard the paper in the rubbish bin as you leave.

Be sure to drink plenty of water to maintain adequate body moisture. In the summer, we tend to drink a lot, because it is hot. It is easy to overlook the hydration when the weather turns cold. To make your body enough water, drink eight cups of fluid a day ten. Your fluid intake should be part of the water. Other sources of fluids including fruit and vegetable juices, milk, tea, coffee.

Wash your hands with soap and warm water after using the bathroom and before each meal. To be sure you really wash viruses and bacteria, you have been in contact with hot water and really scrub hands for at least 60 seconds.
