It seems like the symbol for making it big is driving around in a large oversized American SUV. You know you’ve hit the jackpot when you buy a Cadillac Escalade or Hummer SUV. However, you better drop some extra cash on protecting your elite purchase because the Escalade and Hummer are two of the most likely to be stolen vehicles.
The 2007 Cadillac Escalade ESV has the highest probability of being stolen; 15 times more than the least-stolen car - the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
To put together the list, the IIHS reviews the insurance-claim reports to come up with theft frequency rates based on the number of claims for every 1,000 vehicles insured each year.
