Default Deadly Effects of Smoking Cigarettes

Today, it's real obvious that smoking kills. What's not so obvious is how, and how likely it is: Heart disease, cancer, emphysema, brain damage, and many more horrendous problems. Smoking does always damage our genes, wreck our DNA, and a whole lot more...
It wasn't too long ago that tobacco companies actually touted the 'benefits' of cigarette smoking. Things like: "Breath more oxygen!" or "Tobacco is natural!" Today, however, it's all too obvious that cigarettes kill. Or is it? That's the problem. Despite decades of scientific research which talks about the damage done to our bodies by smoking – many of us still think we can escape this trauma. So let's talk about this damage, and its exacting collateral.

To start with, Nicotine is one of the deadliest poisons in existence. It exceeds the status of strychnine, rattlesnake venom, arsenic, and cyanide. As if this weren't enough, cigarettes contain over 4,000 other chemicals, 200 other poisons. The process of inhaling replaces the oxygen content in your blood with deadly Carbon Monoxide – the same byproduct of your car's gasoline engine or your home furnace. In addition to the other chemicals, a whole host of problems then erupts. These include, but are not limited to:
  • Significant brain damage resulting from lack of oxygen and direct exposure to poisons
  • Annihilation of lung tissue and red blood cells, decimating your aerobic endurance
  • Hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis), destruction of join tissue (arthritis, grout)
  • Turning major organs including the pancreas, liver, and kidneys into toxic waste dumps
  • Staining and corroding teeth, gums, taste-buds, and olfactory organs (smell)
  • Collateral damage to the immune system and cellular DNA from carcinogen exposure
  • A major contributor to the leading causes of death, including stroke, heart disease, and cancer
And these don't even begin to address the appearance or social issues. Things like stained hands, skin, clothing. Aging and wrinkling of the skin. Repulsive odor. The fact that second hand smoke inhalation is worse for others around you. Allergies. Stealing your time and money.

We learned to depend on this crap just to get through our days. But it's nothing more than a bad nightmare created by ultra-greedy corporations trying to keep you confused. They want young people to think smoking is cool – so they start early and get hooked from peer pressure. They want older people to keep smoking so they can line their pockets. They want us to think a cigarette will make us feel better about our real problems – even though they really don't. But brainwashing does work, unfortunately.. and cigarettes keep getting sold.

Please, if we choose to believe in ourselves, if we choose to see a greater purpose, we can make a choice to stop the death and destruction before its too late. These companies are destroying our lives, destroying our world. Quit for yourself, for your friends, for humanity.

Yes, colon cancer is one of the really harmful effects of cigarette smoking. Smoking is associated with 20 percent of all cancers in the United States, but that percentage is much higher for colon cancer. One of the common effects of smoking is poor blood circulation and a loss of oxygen. Since both of these are needed to maintain healthy skin, Your skin is usually touched by premature aging and wrinkles.

Smoking has some disagreeable cosmetic effects. Smokers often suffer from bad breath, yellowing teeth and nails, and early wrinkles around the mouth. Smoking causes changes in the coloring and texture of the skin, often leading to an ashy complexion. A smoker is also times more likely to lose teeth than a non-smoker.
