This book is perfect for someone who wants an overview of mechanical engineering. All the pages are jam-packed with color tables and diagrams that are clear and consolidated. This is an english translation of the German "Tabellenbuch Metall" published by Europa Lehrmittel, and is considered the european equivalent of the Machinists Handbook. This book is less than half as thick as the Machinist's Handbook and some of the information is not applicable to the US, but the quality of the diagrams, low price, great organization and compact size make it a steal. Where as the Machinists Handbook has a lot of wording, this reference is mainly diagrams and tables and is handy for design work. For once it is nice to pick up a mechanical engineering reference that is printed on quality paper, has COLOR diagrams and is tailored to those that would rather have topics visually explained. Highly Recommended.

Also check out other English translations from Europa Lehrmittel...They produce high quality reference books at a low price. I wish there was a US publisher producing similar quality work.
