Whizzpopper! Exciting news for Roald Dahl fans today! DreamWorks has picked up the rights for the author's 1982 children's book about a girl who discovers a world of child-eating giants and works with a Big Friendly Giant and the Queen of England to put an end to the evil giants.

Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall ("The Bourne Ultimatum" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button") will produce the upcoming film, adapted to screen by Melissa Mathison ("E.T.").

Roald Dahl's stories "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "James and the Giant Peach," "Fantastic Mr. Fox," and "The Witches" have all been made into films. "The BFG" also saw a cartoon made in 1989, embedded below.
