Adobe Illustrator vs Corel Draw

Adobe Illustrator is being touted the best, yet here in Davao most of the graphic designers that I know has lauded that Corel Draw is their preferred tool for vector graphics.If I worked in a closed system it is all I would ever use for page layout and vector work. But! It has some problems when you take corel files out of their native program. I think their biggest mistake is that they never really promoted it. I'll be the first to admit that Adobe folks are a hard sell.
