Nina and Edgar Otto are the proud owners of Lancelot Encore, a clone of their now deceased dog Lancelot, and become first couple in the United States to own a cloned pet.
The couple told local media that Lancelot Encore gave them another round with their much loved pet, and that he was identical in every way. The cost for the cloning: $155,000 via a San Francisco biotech company who works with a South Korean firm for the cloning.
Dog cloning isn’t a rare as you’d think, although usually it’s Governments paying for the service. The South Korean Government pays $43,840 a go to clone sniffer dogs through the same company.
