Default 2009 BMW 7 Series Launched!

2009 BMW 7 Series Launched!

BMW India has ushered in the latest 7 series for the Indian market today. The new car is the global 2009 spec model and though we brought you details of this car from Paris and Germany last year (Paris Motor Show), we just can't seem to get enough and now this Bavarian beauty is present in India.

The all new 7 Series, like its predecessors is a class apart. If you thought the older model had everything including the kitchen sink fitted in, BMW has found a way of making this ship on wheels even better. The iDrive is now easier to use and the multifunctional navigation screen is also larger and easier to see. A lot of other functions that 7 Series owners are used to have been retained and though the cabin might look toned down, it is actually every bit a 7 as you can imagine.

On the design front the new 7 can be termed as a toned down Chris Bangle blade work that offers a sporty luxurious look, yet retains the traditional BMW aggressiveness. The fantastic level of quality given to the humblest of details is what makes this car stand out from the rest, even against its prime rival the S Class.

The new BMW 7 Series portfolio in India will consist of three models - 730Ld, 740Li and the 750Li. The 750Li, which was showcased at the launch, will be available from January 2009 and the 740Li and 750Li will be available from mid 2009 in the Indian Market.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Peter Kronschnabl, President, BMW India said, "The arrival of the new BMW 7 Series marks the beginning of a new era in automobile design. Pioneering Innovations, Stylish Design, Luxurious Comfort, and Elegant Functionality of the all-new BMW 7 Series offers a superior driving experience quite unlike anything else in the luxury class. Our objective is to turn the fifth generation of the 7 Series into the most successful one of all time."

The ex-showroom price of 750Li across India is Rs. 93,30,000 (Ex-showroom, pan India). The prices of the 740Li and 730Ld will be announced respectively at the time of their market introduction.
Last year BMW India sold 311 7 Series sedans in India, with the new generation 7 Series, BMW hopes to cross this figure.

BMW has outshined Toyota Motors in an annual ranking of the world’s top most brands which has been released as the BrandZ top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands by the Millward Brown which is a market research company. The Global Brand Director of Millward Brown, Mr. Peter Walshe mentioned that BMW is an efficient communicator which other car-makers care not and it undoubtedly has a very decent product line-up. He added that the troubles for Toyota started when unfortunate Tsunami and earthquake struck Japan last year and made it lose its position as one of the best brands in the world. The disaster of last year definitely affected the brand value ranking of the companies like Nissan, Lexus and Honda. On the other hand Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen and Audi improved in the brand value rankings on account of their increased business in the countries like India and China.
